NZ Institute of Skills and Technology:

NZIST is a single mega polytechnic entity in NZ. It is the largest vocational education provider in NZ. These are government-owned and funded polytechnics which provide cost-effective education.

E.g. Otago Polytechnic, Auckland, Waikato, Institute of Technology, Hamilton, Ara Institute of Canterbury, Christchurch.

Funds Estimation for Studying in NZ:

For international students planning to study in New Zealand, the estimated funds required include one year of tuition fees, NZD 20,000 for living costs, and NZD 1,000 for airfare. The total amount should be at least six months old, with only one sponsor accepted, unless the parents are the main sponsor. The student can also act as their own sponsor.

Financials Evidence for Studying in NZ:

• One year tuition payment evidence (as per offer letter) + NZD 20,000 for living expenses.
• Funds must be 3 to 6 months old, with a recent deposit source required.
• Submit the last 6 months bank savings account statements and a balance certificate.
• Provide Fixed Deposit (FD) copies with a lien-free letter from the bank (6 months old), along with an FDR account statement.
• Submit education loan documents: loan sanction letter, disbursement letter, loan account statement, mortgage deed, and property valuation report.
• For Public Provident Funds (PPF) from nationalized banks: a withdrawal letter showing the withdrawal limit and transfer details to the bank.

Quick Info about Student’s NZ Visa:

• The visa allows full-time study in NZ. The student’s parents must be their main sponsor.
• The NZ student visa allows a length of stay of up to four years and costs 750 NZD to apply for.
• Processing time is approx. 5 weeks. Students must have proof of acceptance and funds.
• Full-degree students can work 20 hours a week and work full-time during holiday periods.
• Student can apply for Visa approval in Principle (AIP) before paying fees, once issued, students will pay, and INZ grants the Visa.
